The following are instructions for installing the various software files in the download software list. 1. File Descriptions DOS LibraryController x.xx.zip - this is the latest firmware for DOS based Library Controllers. Install by unzipping the folder and copying over a duplicate of the controller formware floppy. DSICTL Setup.exe - this is the latest firmware for the Windows XP based Library Controller. Copy this file to a CD or USB drive. Insert the Cd or USB drive into the Library Controller and run the .exe program. TapeManager Release x.xxx.CON - this is the full TapeManager release in an MCP container file. (see section 3) TapeManager Release x.xxx.ZIP - this is the full TapeManager release in an MCP container file that has also been zipped. Unzip this file to the MCP container file. (see section 3) TAPEMANAGER.ISO - this is the full TapeManager release in a CD image format. (see section 2) TAPEMANAGERDOCS.ISO - this is the TapeManager manuals in a CD image. NOTE: these manuals are also contained in the full TapeManager release files above. 2. Installing TapeManager ISO image A. After downloading the ISO image, burn to a CD. Since this is an MCP CD image not all burning programs will work. For Windows systems Nero has been shown to burn correctly while Roxio has not produced usable CDs. Other software that you might use is ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com/) (Windows) InfraRecorder (http://infrarecorder.sourceforge.net/) (Windows) K3b (http://k3b.plainblack.com/) (Linux - KDE) B. Load the burned CD into the MCP CD drive on the host to install C. If this is a new install, copy all files from the CD to the usercode and family where TapeManager is to be installed (COPY = AS ()= FROM TAPEMANAGER(CD) TO (PACK)). RUN SYSTEM/TAPEMANAGER/INSTALL followed by SEND TM START See the TapeManager Operations Guide for additional installation information. D. For pre-existing installations, 1) Backup the TapeManager system (TM DB BACKUP TO DISK), then 2) TM INSTALL ALL 3. Installing TapeManager from MCP container (CON) A. If you choose the smaller PKZip archive, unzip the container file with your zip utility. B. Upload the container to a share on your MCP host. If you have an installed TapeManager on that machine of release 5.065 or later, there will be a share called "TAPEMANAGER" which maps to the TAPEMANAGER directory of your TapeManager install family (and usercode, if the install included a usercode). C. If this is a new install, unwrap the container file (UNWRAP *= AS ()= OUTOF “TAPEMANAGER.CON” TO (PACK,RESTRICTED=FALSE)). RUN SYSTEM/TAPEMANAGER/INSTALL followed by SEND TM START See the TapeManager Operations Guide for additional installation information. D. For pre-existing installations, 1) Backup the TapeManager system (TM DB BACKUP TO DISK), then 2) TM INSTALL ALL IN “TAPEMANAGER.CON” These are simplified instructions meant for experienced users. If you need additional information please review the installation instructions found in the TapeManager Operations Guide, the Quick Start for New Users, and the Quick Start for Current Users documents.
